I was really surprised to know from a Canadian family, the impact of tourism and recreation. The family spent 42 days in spending their holiday exploring national parks across the U.S.During their travel, the family has stayed in local motels and hotels and ate in local restaurants. They have spent money in local establishments scaling from coast to coast.

The outdoor recreational industry also boosts the local, home grown, small and big enterprises. One good example is LL Bean. I visited few business establishments – L.L. Bean’s headquarters in Freeport, Maine, Bibens Ace Hardware in Colchester, Vermont, and Eastern Mountain Sports near Portsmouth, New Hampshire. These companies are involved in outdoor businesses and their growth shows the power of outdoor business in boosting the economy in New England and in other parts of US. If we promote and encourage people to involve in outdoor activity which will make them feel near to Nature, we will be promoting their knowledge and awareness in wildlife, land and water. And also improve the economy of our future.
